Your Maternity Experience Guide
Welcome, I’m Nicolette
Thank you for trusting me with this special season. My goal is to create an effortless, beautifully styled experience from start to finish. This guide will help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your session.
Before your session, we recommend:
Skip spray tans or self-tanner.
Matching tones can be tricky on camera and self-tanners often photograph unevenly. Don’t worry — our lighting and retouching create a beautiful, natural glow.
Wash your hair the day before styling for the best hold and finish.
For your partner:
We photograph many moments barefoot for a relaxed, timeless look. We recommend either going barefoot together or choosing clean, coordinating shoes that complement one another.
What to Bring to your Session
Our studio offers a curated collection of dresses and accessories for you to use during your session. Below are a few personal items we recommend bringing, as they are not provided in-studio.
Nude & Black seamless thong
Nipple pasties and/or nude/black bra
Any jewelry you wish to wear
Body lotion
Casual outfit (such as jeans & white tee)
Shoes/Heels
Shoes for husband
Ultrasound images
Any Meaningful Props
Posing Tips
When asked to look at the belly, you might not actually be looking at the belly! What do I mean by that? To keep a more flattering contour of the face we recommend looking a few inches ahead of you at the floor.
Keeping hands loose and natural, fingers together will be more flattering when showing off your belly.
The leg that is closest to the camera is the one we will want to keep a bend in. This will accentuate the belly and your natural curves.
Pets and Children
I typically recommend having your husband/partner bring the pets children for the first or last 30 minutes of the photo session, and leave afterwards. This is plenty of time for us to get great family photos, and then focus on you for the duration of the session.
