Your In Studio Family Experience Guide

Welcome, I’m Nicolette

Thank you for trusting me with this special season. My goal is to create an effortless, beautifully styled experience from start to finish. This guide will help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your session.

Preparing for your family session

A studio session is designed to be effortless, comfortable, and beautifully guided. From lighting to posing, every detail is thoughtfully curated so you can simply show up and enjoy time with your family.

Below are a few tips to help you feel fully prepared.

Keep Timing in Mind

Try to plan your day so everyone arrives well-rested and fed.

For little ones:
• Avoid scheduling during nap time
• Have a snack before arriving
• Bring a small, mess-free backup snack if needed

A happy, comfortable child makes all the difference in creating relaxed, natural expressions.

What to Wear

Your wardrobe plays a big role in creating a cohesive, timeless look.

Overall styling tips

• Stick to soft, neutral tones
• Coordinate, don’t match exactly
• Limit patterns and avoid large logos
• Choose textures (knits, linen, flowy fabrics) for added depth

A good starting palette:
• Cream
• Beige
• Soft gray
• Muted earth tones
• Dusty pastels

For Moms

We recommend starting with mom’s outfit and building around it.

Flattering options include:
• Flowy dresses
• Soft knit sets
• Neutral tops with movement

If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help style your look.

For Dads

Keep it simple and classic:
• Neutral t-shirt or henley
• Button down shirt
• Knit sweater

Avoid bold graphics or bright colors.

For children

Comfort is key.

• Soft, neutral outfits
• Minimal patterns
• Barefoot or simple socks

Bring a backup outfit just in case.

What to Expect

Studio sessions are fully guided from start to finish.

We’ll move through a mix of:
• Full family portraits
• Individual moments with each parent
• Sibling interactions
• Natural, candid connections

You don’t need to worry about posing, I’ll guide you every step of the way so everything feels natural and effortless.
