Your On-Location Family Experience Guide

Welcome, I’m Nicolette

Thank you for trusting me with this special season. My goal is to create an effortless, beautifully styled experience from start to finish. This guide will help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your session.

Before your session

Timing & Light

Sessions are scheduled around the best natural light — typically just before sunset.

Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early so we can begin right on time and make the most of the light.

Plan for Kids

• Bring a small snack and water
• Avoid messy or brightly colored foods right before the session
• Let kids know this will be fun — not something stressful

Think of it as a relaxed family outing rather than a formal photoshoot.

What to Wear

Outdoor sessions pair beautifully with soft, natural tones that complement the environment.

Color Palette Ideas

• Creams and warm neutrals
• Soft greens
• Dusty blues
• Light browns and tans

Avoid:
• Neon colors
• Busy patterns
• Logos or graphics

Styling Tips

• Flowy fabrics photograph beautifully in movement
• Layers add dimension (cardigans, light jackets)
• Coordinate tones rather than matching exactly

Footwear

Choose shoes that work with the environment:
• Barefoot (great for beach or grassy areas)
• Neutral sandals or flats
• Avoid athletic sneakers when possible

What to Expect

On-location sessions are movement-based and interactive.

We’ll focus on:
• Walking together
• Playing with your kids
• Natural laughter and connection
• Gentle posing mixed with candid moments

There’s less “stand and smile” and more real, in-between moments.

A Few Helpful Tips

• Bring a neutral blanket if you'd like a seated look
• Pack wipes for quick clean-ups
• Avoid bringing too many items — we want to keep things simple
• Trust the process — movement creates the magic
